Trading in 2 Doors For 4

It was ironic that we got our sporty 2-door Honda Accord a couple weeks before we found out that Chesney was pregnant. Had we known THAT, we might have chosen a car differently…

Anyway, decided we’d had enough of contorting ourselves just to get Caleb in and out of his carseat in the 2 door Accord and having to borrow a truck to lug big things around.

So, after 3 years of running the poor Accord into the ground driving Highway 17 and/or the treacherous, winding Bear Creek Rd every day, it was suffering from a failing transmission, brakes that needed servicing, and a set of bald-as-caleb’s-head set of tires. Rather than paying a bundle, we traded it in for this 1999 4runner. Yes, it’s got a large backseat AND enough room in the back for a stroller, a playpen, a travel highchair, and a diaper bag. And maybe a suitcase for Chesney and I.

It was either this or a Nissan Pathfinder. While the Pathfinder was a little less expensive, we decided to go with Toyota’s reliability and quality.

So now I’ve joined the ever-growing club of SUV owners. Wow, I feel so trendy. It seems like showing off new cars is the thing to do at our family gatherings, so now I can participate in that too! Yay.
