Thanks for the comments, Phil. I've been slowly implementing some of your suggestions, as you can see. I really miss the Flash text though...maybe I'll just drop support for Linux. Heh.

One other comment is that I'm not a big fan of 'click here to read more' on the front page. It might be justifiable in the cases of extremely long blog entries, but not normally. For me, I always click read more; I think people will want the whole entry more often than not.

If you really want to keep things short on the front page, consider using Javascript to hide the rest of the comment until it gets clicked. That way people don't have to load a new page, but you have the simpler, less cluttered splash page.

Also, you should consider using Textile to style your comments. http://textism.com/tools/textile/ It allows much more flexibility without opening up to the dangers of allowing HTML. It's what Typo uses, and I like it a lot. I'm sure there's a PHP module to get you that functionality.

Nice job with this redesign. I know a lot of things are still in progress, but here are some thoughts:

* Input fields for mail and uri are too small
* Can you say 'copyright 2004 - 2005 Intelligent Design' if Intelligent Design has only existed in 2005? Just a thought.
* Flash as text should be optional. The Linux flash plugin is a halfhearted POS. If you mouseover the flash, it takes control of the keyboard, and no keyboard shortcuts work. I know, I know, install flashblock, but that only works in Firefox, and I don't want to have to reinstall extensions over the four machines I use regularly. I'm thinking if you could right-click on the flash and choose an option, it could set a cookie that would never serve up flash content? (I don't know enough about flash to say if that's possible....) Whatever; it's not a huge deal, but if you're going to be tweaking your site anyway....
* Might want to hide the 'Admin' link.
