That's still the way I tend to eat, though I've kind of learned the American (and I guess Canadian) way of eating mostly with a fork. It seems though that eating with only 2 utensils wasn't the only thing going on with this kid, though. I get the impression he may have been rude, or sloppy in other ways. Still, seems like pretty extreme punishment. If the only thing going on was the utensils, then that's totally crazy. Eating w/ both spoon & fork was normal in many parts of Indonesia, too. Here in the UK, eating with a spoon and a fork would be more acceptable than eating with just a fork, which is seen as just plain rude. Each to their own i suppose. Thats a kind of a weird comment.
