Finally: Adobe Creative Suite 3
Adobe officially releases Adobe Creative Suite 3 today! And there was much rejoicing in the Macintelville.
If the upgrade is anything like the Photoshop CS3 beta, this really is Adobe’s largest upgrade in years. I can’t wait to try out the new version of Fireworks in particular. I love Fireworks, but it’s dog-slow on an Intel Mac. I’d like to see the new version of Dreamweaver, but I think I’ve “grown out of” Dreamweaver and moved away from WYSIWYG to purely text-based editors. I actually really like Dreamweaver’s code view, but can’t stand how big, slow, and bloated it is.
more later when I actually have had a chance to use CS3…

Hey Tim. I got an invite to be on the Fireworks 3 Beta team, so I’ve used it quite a bit. It’s a big improvement, with a lot of really useful features, the biggest being speed! Intel native apps just fly in comparison.
I ordered my copy yesterday, upgrading from CS2 Standard to CS3 Web Premium. The only application that I’m going to miss in the new bundling scheme is InDesign. I’m a big InDesign fan, but alas, I do almost no print design these days (and if I do, I’d probably use Pages anyway). Amazon says that I should receive it on April 23rd, I can’t wait.
Can you believe how expensive the Master Collection is? I also find it strange that there are 3 windows only applications in the bundle, but costs the same for Mac and PC. Hmph.
I tried to get into that beta, but it was over by the time I signed up.
Our team’s copies are all ordered. A few “Web Premium’s” and one seat of InDesign. This will, without a doubt, speed things up any person in the design field by at least 20%. Twice as fast for photographers.
What do you think of Microsoft’s Silverlight?
